RIRA Ultra
The Chapter2 RIRA Ultra is a flagship lightweight racing frameset engineered to deliver absolute precision on steep climbs and high-speed descents. Sharing the Māori name for “power and strength,” this elite frame uses a high-modulus Toray carbon layup to achieve a remarkable 695-gram weight alongside seamless internal cable integration. Beyond its gravity-defying climbing efficiency, its defining design innovation is an exceptionally stiff EVO386 bottom bracket platform with modern SRAM UDH compatibility, paired with clearance for up to 34mm front and 32mm rear tires. Finished with premium bespoke aesthetics, the RIRA Ultra stands as the ultimate synthesis of feathery lightness and explosive power transfer.
RIRA
Built upon the same high-performance DNA, the standard Chapter2 RIRA delivers the same aggressive geometry and handling in a slightly heavier, highly durable carbon layup. Sharing the seamless internal cable routing, SRAM UDH compatibility, and versatile 34mm front and 32mm rear tire clearance of its Ultra sibling, this chassis is optimised for everyday racing reliability. Its defining structural adaptation is the integration of a T47 threaded bottom bracket, prioritising creak-free serviceability and broad crankset compatibility for privateer racers and home mechanics.Adorned with Chapter2’s signature bespoke graphic storytelling, the RIRA represents a perfect balance of elite racing efficiency and pragmatic, rider-focused engineering.

Mike Pryde is a New Zealand architect, designer, and cyclist whose work bridges performance engineering and bold aesthetics. After beginning his career at renowned architectural firms Foster + Partners and Aedas, he transitioned into industrial design and brand management in 2004.
In what he calls his "Chapter 1," Mike established the NeilPryde Bicycles division. Collaborating with Designworks, he designed over 15 acclaimed bicycles that earned Red Dot, IDSA, and New Zealand Best Design Awards. His frames quickly proved themselves at the elite level, securing major victories for the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team and a USA Cycling Pro Criterium National Championship.
In 2017, Mike and his father, Neil, founded CHAPTER2 in Auckland to create beautifully crafted, world-class frames with a boutique, personal spirit. The brand immediately stepped onto the global stage, supplying frames to Team Bigla and delivering headline results at the Giro Rosa and the 2020 New Zealand National Road Race Championship.
Today, channelling over 30 years of multidisciplinary experience, Mike leads Brand and Formworks Studio Limited—a consultancy bringing strategic, product-led expertise to a wide range of design-forward businesses.
